Yin yoga is quiet, meditative yoga, where each position is typically held for up to 3-5 minutes.
In yin yoga, we invite the body to let go of as much muscle activity as possible and let the body give in to physical stretches. We work to stretch the connective tissue and joints, while replacing blockages in the body's energy pathways with greater energy flow.
Yin yoga is a good choice as a supplement to hot yoga, which is often very yang influenced in its structure. Yin Yoga has a stress-reducing and balancing effect as it affects your parasympathetic nervous system. It will make you more agile, physically as well as mentally, and it will lower your sting pressure and balance your sleep rhythm.
